Within one month of the death:

  • apply for the death lump sum from the social security and retirement fund(s);
  • arrange to meet the notary to arrange matters relating to the estate.
  • notify the tax authorities regarding income tax and dwelling tax.
  • lodge an income tax return for the deceased person;

Within six months of the death:

  • If you are the surviving spouse or one of the children, you may need to apply for personal registration with social security
